About Thistle & Poppy

Philosophy

Thistle & Poppy is a new modern and playful family concept store showcasing brands that have sustainable and ethical production and labor practices as well as a curated selection of vintage and preloved goods.

We believe that

πŸ„ objects should last

πŸ„ people and the environment should not be harmed in the production of the goods we are amassing in our modern age

πŸ„ there is already so much great β€œstuff” out there that we should be intentional when we purchase something new.

πŸ„ by shopping secondhand, we can greatly reduce our impact on the planet and find treasures in the process

πŸ„ objects should bring joy to our lives on a daily basis, whether it be a simple wooden rainbow or a precious ceramic mug.

πŸ„ We believe in the goods we carry at Thistle & Poppy and we hope that you do too!

About Me

Cat is the founder and owner of Thistle & Poppy, a family concept store with a focus on sustainability and heirloom goods. She is the mother of two young kids, a nature lover, an avid thrifter, a craft dabbler, and an advocate for sustainable consumption.

Trained as a historian and educator, Cat taught high school history in California and Washington before having her first child in 2016. After taking family leave from her teaching job, she decided to pivot and become a full-time stay-at-home parent. With baby in tow, Cat rediscovered her love of thrifting and grew passionate about giving secondhand clothing new life and love. She started selling vintage and relove children’s goods online in 2019 while envisioning a small shop that showcased secondhand goods alongside a curated selection of sustainable new toys, clothing, and housewares. In June of 2022, Cat launched Thistle & Poppy and is excited to share her love of sustainable goods with the world!
