Happy Thrifty Thursday! There is always one room in your house that gets totally neglected and in most cases I am finding it is the most used space in the house! There is something totally wrong with that picture! This week I will not stand for it anymore! And I am adding a few easy and budget friendly items to my to do list to make our bathrooms a bit more functional and a lot more stylish!
To start this potty party off right, we will start with the just that! This idea is sooo simple! and yet it makes a huge impact on the entire look of the room. Talk about an easy upcycle upgrade!
While we are still on the pot - this super easy and super functional magazine rack is the perfect solution for bathroom reading. It keeps everything organized and tidy, while adding function and style to your bathroom. I like the slim design of this over your standard magazine basket because it can really fit in any bathroom.
On the subject of function, if you are anything like I am, there is literally never enough storage space in the bathroom! I always want to have that catalog style bathroom, with gorgeous decor that is never out of place. But lets be real! I have 3 kinds of hairspray, mousse, face wash, toothpaste, makeup all that our builder so kindly supplied ONE drawer to fit it all inside! And that doesn't even include all the things my euro husband needs to upkeep himself! Puh-lease one drawer! This DIY project would not be complete without a couple major organization solutions for anyone else who lacks the proper bathroom storage!
Here are brilliant how to instructions on how to create cabinet storage!
Now if you need more cabinets, this solution is perfect - and you get a full length mirror out of the deal! I think I can go out on a limb and call this one a WIN WIN!
In my opinion, a bathroom upgrade (or any room upgrade) wouldn't be complete without some new wall decor! Fresh walls make any room feel brand new! Love this idea of filling the wall with beautiful frames, and even inserting some with chalkboards! Write your own sayings or leave it open for interaction, Its like a fancified take on writing on the bathroom stall!
Last up, This is one I am going to do asap! I am sure 90% of you have all had or seen those terrible frameless mirrors in bathrooms. Builders install them because they are cheap, and guess what, they look cheap too! I think this is the easiest upgrade with the most impact on the list today! And this is such a genius solution for framing beginners or folks that just don't like to get out those power tools. There are no miter cuts, so the only tricky part is using your ruler!
Have fun! We will post before and afters of our upgrades! Send us photos of yours!
